Investment Management Project Manager
Job Summary of Investment Management Project Manager:
MassMutual is seeking an experienced project manager to support the establishment and ongoing operations of this new office, which serves Corporate Finance, Enterprise Risk, and Investment Management initiatives. Reporting to the Investment Management Portfolio Lead, this role is responsible for planning, executing, managing, and reporting on projects using standardized project management processes and tools to increase the value and impact of change efforts across corporate functions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Investment Management Project Manager:
- Collaborate with Project Sponsors and Functional Managers to develop Discovery artifacts, including Cost Benefit Analyses, Project Charters, Resource Plans, and Milestone Plans to secure Discovery Funding.
- Create and maintain detailed planning documents and manage project plan execution.
- Define project scope and oversee scope execution across multiple complex projects or programs involving high risk, numerous resources, and significant organizational change.
- Prepare financial forecasts, monitor cost variances, address delivery challenges, and manage budget adjustments via Change Request processes.
- Develop high-level milestones during Discovery and detailed project schedules during planning phases.
- Apply advanced project and program management knowledge autonomously, including refining resource plans, creating RACI matrices, conducting risk assessments, and assessing third-party support needs.
- Identify, resolve, and escalate project risks early through maintaining Risk and Issue Logs and conducting Pre-Mortem activities.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies beyond assigned scope.
- Ensure business requirements are met from development through implementation.
Qualifications and Experience of Investment Management Project Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of project management experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with project management tools such as MS Project and Jira.
- 10+ years of project management experience, including 5+ years within a PMO environment.
- 8+ years leading projects impacting Investment Management and Capital Market systems and business processes.
- Proven track record of delivering complex, long-term projects on time, within budget, and according to scope.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies including Agile and Waterfall.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
